The Richard Henry Lee Chapter was first chartered on 7 February 1953, in Auburn, Alabama. The Chapter was rechartered on 27 October 1993, replacing the charter which had lapsed several years earlier.

The Chapter meets at the Saugahatchee Country Club on the fourth Friday of the month, except during June, July, and August. Meeting dates and times are subject to change. Please call Chapter Secretary Walter Cullars Dorsey, (334) 745-2629, for current meeting information.

Visiting SAR Members, prospective members, and others interested in the patriotic, historical, and educational objectives of the Sons of the American Revolution are welcome to attend our meetings. If you are interested, please contact Fred Hilliard Thomas, our current President.

In 1996, the Richard Henry Lee Chapter SAR initiated a series of letters on Patriotic Themes to editors of local newspapers. These articles have usually appeared in both of the local newspapers, enhancing the public awareness of the patriotic, historical, and educational objectives of the Sons of the American Revolution.
